The manufacturing process of SLIMSLAB is the 8 step process.

Let's understand each in details.

  • Raw Material

           It is the main point in every manufacturing process. We use the finest raw material to make the future surface, SLIMSLAB.

  • Mixing & Grinding

           The raw material is simultaneously mixed and grinds in ball mills.

  • Spray drying

           SLIMSLAB is typically formed by dry pressing. Prior to pressing, many facilities granulate the material mix to form a free-flowing powder, thereby improving handling and compaction. The most commonly used method of granulation is spray-drying.

  • Formatting

           Once the composition of the powder becomes homogenous, it is taken to the press where it is molded and squeezed under high pressure (in the order of hundreds of tons) to form a biscuit or Greenware slab body.

  • Drying

           Drying means loss of moisture from the surface of the substance by evaporation. When the substance is dried and moisture is lost, particles are put close to each other, resulting in shrinkage.

  • Glazing & Printing

           Glazes resemble glass in structure and texture. The purpose of glazing is to provide a smooth surface that seals the slab body. After that, the seamless patterns are printed on a slab body with a highly digital printing machine.

  • Friting

           It is the process by which slabs are thermally consolidated into a dense, cohesive body composed of fine, uniform grains which gives the shine and vividness to the slab body. This process also is referred to as sintering or densification. 

  • SLIMSLAB

           Now the finished SLIMSLAB by VU SERAMIK is then packed and ready to be shipped.
